How to extend battery life and delay battery aging

 Introduction

Although the battery's health will naturally decline with use of the device over time, we can delay the battery's aging process through reasonable use. By paying attention to how we use the device, we can extend the battery's life expectancy and maximize its performance within a limited timescale.

I. What is "battery health"

"Battery health" is a measure of battery life, which is the difference between the current maximum capacity of the battery and a brand-new battery. The better the health of the battery, the longer the battery can be used in a single charge cycle, and vice versa.

II. Why batteries "age"

With use of the device, the health of the battery will naturally decline over time. This is a natural and unavoidable process caused by the chemical properties of lithium-ion batteries.

Battery health and usage environment are linked to your usage habits. For example, if the battery is exposed to high-temperature environments for extended periods of time, remains fully charged for long periods of time or is frequently drained, its health will decline more quickly.

III. How to extend battery life and delay battery aging

1. Avoid prolonged exposure of the device to high ambient temperatures:

15 ℃ - 28 ℃ is the ambient temperature range required for optimum battery performance. Exposing the device to an ambient temperature above 35 °C for long periods of time will accelerate the battery's aging and degrade its performance.

2. Avoid using the battery in extremely low temperature environments:

Using the device in cold environments below 0° will temporarily shorten the battery's usable time. This is caused by the chemical properties of the battery at low temperatures. After the battery returns to its normal temperature range, its usable time will also return to normal.

3. Avoid fully recharging the battery for long periods of time and frequently draining its power

The optimum battery power range for battery longevity is 40 to 80%. Leaving the battery fully charged for extended periods of time or draining it frequently can accelerate battery aging. It is recommended that you unplug the charger once the battery is fully charged and that you recharge the battery when its power is low to delay battery aging.
